Love is the Dream

On a cold autumn night with stars in the sky

a young girl made a choice to keep her love alive,

 feelings she had known never came to her so fast,

 for once she had given her love she could never hold the past

 She had never known that love could carry her so far

so the girl became a woman beneath th midnight stars,

as the feelings of her love carried her away.

.her man could only listen to these words she had to say…

I have kept my young girl dreams,

lived a young girls life,

I have done the things I longed to do

and done some things not right,

I take my chances as they are

like the one I have this night for love is the dream

Together they were one in the heart of the night,

two people so in love trying to make things come out right,

how were they to know love is a powerful word

and one of them some day would end up lonely

and real hurt,

now this man sits all alone

and tears fall from his face

as his mind relives that autumn night

when he heard his woman say..
